FlamencOle Dance Theatre
Dear Friend, On behalf of Antoinette's Rhythm & Dance Academy, I would like to introduce and share with you FlamencOle Dance Theatre a non-profit organization, whose role in our community will be to preserve and strengthen the study and art of Flamenco through workshops, performances, and educational programs. My educational vision for this organization is to be able to give back to my community, my passion of Flamenco Dance that I have experienced and taught during these last thirty years of my life. Through my thirty years of performing and teaching flamenco, I have seen the need and it's my desire for underprivileged children who would otherwise be unable to experience the joy, persistence and a sense of self expression and self-esteem that comes from learning aqnd performing the art of dance. Through my non-profit organization, I will be able to provide scholarships, free classes and workshops to children at organizations such as, but not limited to, Girls and Boys Club of Santa Barbara, Girl's Incorporated of Greater Santa Barbara and at various schools in the Santa Barbara/Carpinteria/Goleta areas. My long-term goal is to also provide transportation (van) to and from my studio for these children who would be unable to participate due to parent's work and financial constraints. My workshop vision through this organization is to be able to provide workshops taught by today's leading Professional Flamenco Dancers from Spain to my Dancers. Being taught by these teachers is an experience every novice student dreams of. The experience, passion for and knowledge of their dancing comes alive and is shared with each student, along with roots and history of Flamenco Dance. My performance vision through this organization is to take my Dance Company (adult and youth dancers) on the road, allowing them the privilege and experience of sharing and performing the Art of Flamenco for a variety of venues in different Cities and States across America. My organization will be able to allow for and provide transportation, costumes and all other fees associated with a traveling Dance Academy. The success of my non-profit organization depends on the generous support from the community, such as yourself. Your support and participation in allowing my visions to become a reality will be greatly appreciated. All proceeds will benefit FlamencOle's operations and projects. In appreciation for your generosity, you and/or your company will be featured in my quarterly newsletter.
